From Luftwaffe to RAAF
Price: $25.95
by Frank Korbl
An extraordinary Australian migrant story.
Frank grew up in Vienne in the turbulence following World War I. He was drafted into the Luftwaffe and served in World War II as a radio signaller. At the war's end, Frank worked with the British occupation forces, and it is here that he developed a taste for distant shores.
Leaving his homeland in the '50s, he arrived in Bonegilla, the infamous Australian immigration camp. There began his quest to understand what it means to be Australian, which led him to occupations as diverse as fruit-picking in Queensland, and working in the stock market.
Frank Korbl's life has been a voyage of discovery. Take it with him.
