A Journey around the World, a true lifetime of Adventure…

There is no slowing down for Ben Lochtenberg, even in retirement. His hard work and interest in his family history has culminated in the engrossing autobiography, A Boy on the Last Boat which he launched on Thursday, 18th of November at the award-winning venue of Avenue Bookstore (Swan Street, Richmond). Ben spoke of his life, the motivation for putting his story to paper, this includes the sorrow of his father’s passing as a Japanese POW, the joy of meeting his wife, Margaret (This year they celebrated their 60th marriage anniversary) and the journey of their growing family and their travels that spanned the entire globe.

His book is meticulously researched; with Ben and Margaret even traveling to find the final resting place of his father who has such a profound effect on the small boy, aged just ten years old, that escaped on the last boat out of Java as the Japanese befell the island as part of the Pacific War in South-East Asia.

Growing Up Ain’t Easy…

Launch date: July 14 2016

It was a packed house launching James Maclean’s first book, Mordialloc at the beautiful riverside modern venue of the Bridge Hotel in Mordialloc.
We were overjoyed to hear James make a speech that moved the room and made everyone laugh. It’s no wonder his book achieves the same.

With year 12 in the rear view mirror, Floyd decides to throw a party for his graduating class. Hard liquor, inexperience and a testosterone-fueled peer group are seldom a good mix. Each year Walden maintained a journal in which he recorded his personal life-changing moments woven through some of the biggest headlines of our times. Today they form a record – not only of his life as a newsman – but an evolution of television news now in its sixtieth year and facing what many proclaim is the imminent ‘death of news’ in all its traditional forms.

Juliet M. Sampson – author of Bon Voyage! and Behind the Mask – has colourfully danced her way into the Young Adult market this year with the much anticipated release of Dance Demons.

The carefully crafted story was partly inspired by her own love of dance, she says. Throughout Juliet’s life she has been exposed to the world of dance, leaning styles of jazz, ballet and tap. In recent years, Juliet was introduced to the world of Latin dance, the Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive and Samba.
